Flashlight Became Dynamite, at Backlit Gallery, Nottingham includes work by Paul Barlow, Lea Torp Nielsen, Rebecca Scofield and Mark Riddington. The exhibitions is running until April 15th. A very vibrant, playful exhibition, all of the works sit comfortably with each other. Some overlapping, others propping up or being squashed inside one another. Shape, material and gravity dictate the work which all has a great energy.
Girl One Girl opened yesterday in the Attic at One Thoresby Street and will run until May 4th. Work by Rebecca Ounstead, Samara Scott and Lara Angol makes up this exciting, clean and colourful show. A great use of minimal shape, material and unusual found objects.
The lower image is a piece by Samara Scott similar to that show in Girl on Girl.
